About me
Gale Winskill
Winskill Editorial is the business name of Gale Winskill. My path into editing stems from a lifelong love of reading, the fact that I will happily read anything and an unconventional and indirect route into my chosen career. Some of my more unusual pursuits have proved surprisingly useful for various editing commissions.
I really value Gale's insight when it comes to the nuances of language and style, and her incredible and joyful sense of humour.

Areas of expertise
My speciality is fiction (adult, children’s and young adult). I also work on general and narrative non-fiction, as well as illustrated children’s fiction and picture books. In addition, I provide training and consultancy to both authors and editors.
Professional aim
To provide a high-quality, professional service at a competitive rate, within an agreed timescale, in accordance with the membership codes of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading.
Useful trivia
I speak Italian fluently, have a good working knowledge of French, as well as some German. I have also travelled extensively, and lived and worked in Hong Kong (editing and writing textbooks), Thailand and Egypt (as a PADI dive master) and Italy (importing fruit and as an au pair).
